Last Day of 1st Grade

I can't believe it...the last day of 1st grade. Alex-Shae has had the most wonderful school year, I so hated to see it come to an end. She loved it! She keeps telling me that this was the best school year ever...like she has had so many. However, I do agree that Ms. Kelly was wonderful. We are going to miss her so much.
Here are some pictures to reflect on...

Last day of school as a 1st grader! Seems happy, but rather sleepy too! Since she didn't get out of the pool until 9...and yes, it was raining while they were swimming.

I had to take a full length picture of how tall she is or was it the mountain dew she is holding???? Yes folks...every morning Alex-Shae leaves the house with a dew to get her day going. She loves them just like her DADDY. HOOKED on them. I try not to make a big deal out of it...I need my caffeine too!

Just a time of reflection. I can't believe that she has grown up so fast. Time is just swifting passing by, but we sure do enjoy her daily.

WOW!!! I feel so much older! Just kidding, but this past Saturday was my 33rd birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I had such a wonderful day. Didn't do a lot but just enjoyed my down time. It is usually much needed after a full week of work, commuting over a 100 miles a day, and then just the normals around our house.
UNFORTUNATELY, I have no pictures to share because I left my camera sitting on my desk for the weekend. Did me a lot of good there it seems.
Thanks to all of my blogger buddies who sent me birthday wishes on Facebook...I loved reading them. Hope everyone has a good week!!! I will leave you with this quote I found today... "Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift!" I loved it and thought it was so fitting!

Zoo, Field Trip, & 1st Graders....Got the picture already???

You haven't lived until you have experienced a field trip. With 2 years of preschool at the Christian Academy and with 1st grade almost behind us....we have had some interesting adventures. Yesterday was no different. We had a wonderful time at The Louisville Zoo. The kids seemed to have a wonderful time! I was so thrilled to get to go with Alex-Shae and then RB takes an extra looooong lunch break and meets us there too! We had fun with her friends and their parents.

I loved this little giraffe.

This was so funny. This gorilla had a stare down with RB. After about five minutes we had to move on. The crazy thing continued to stare at him the entire time we were standing there. Everyone got to laughing about it, but that gorilla never changed his expression the entire time. I told RB that he must resemble the gorilla's DAD! He didn't think that was too funny! Those standing around us did!!!

Maddy, Alex-Shae and Karson with their purchases from the gift shop. The only thing that I told Alex-Shae that she could not have was a....stuffed animal! After walking that park and she was SOOOOO good, she got what...a darn stuffed animal! I thought RB would kill me! We had told her on Sunday night that she could get something but not a stuffed animal. Why did we even bother having that conversation with her?

It was a beautiful day and enjoyed by all!

Getting Ready for Some POOL TIME....

FINALLY...we have a deck around our pool. We, many helping hands, put in a pool at the end of the season last year. At that time we only built a small deck from our patio to the pool...I called it a "boat dock!" Well...with much needed help from RB's brother, Danny, we have a deck around the pool, the slide is up, and we are almost pool ready. Danny is the greatest and a wonderful brother, brother-in-law, and UNCLE too! He has picked up Alex-Shae this week from school and they have spent some good quality time together. He loves her so much, and she loves to argue with him.

The water is still cloudy and it is too cold to even think about getting in but you know we must be ready for when the time comes. Of course, every day Alex-Shae ask to swim...she says we are NEVER going to let her swim, just like the season is almost over. However, we are truly excited to have this project completed...now to the landscaping, that I will take no part in, totally 100% RB's job. I thought I would share a couple of pictures. My 8th Grade Dance Attendees...

As most of you know that I am crazy about my nieces and nephews...and yes, Alex-Shae is so jealous sometimes. (She is such a spoiled little lady!) So therefore, I just had to post a couple of pictures of them all dressed up for the big 8th Grade Dance. They both had so much fun and I am so glad.
Jared and Kendall fixing to leave to go to the dance. Jared looked so handsome...Kendall was a little beauty. I am so glad that Kendall went with him. He had the time of his life. I love this little man so much and I thank God daily for him. I know that Jared needs me at times, and I hope and pray that I can always be there for him.

My Mackenzie....aka FLIP!!! Doesn't she look beautiful? I thought I was going to get sick when I saw these pictures. She isn't suppose to be this old yet! I can still remember the first time she looked up at me and said "SISSY" and to this very day...that is what she and Madison still call me!

This is the picture they sent me via the cell phone on Sunday afternoon. I looked at it for a minute and thought...this can't be. I showed it to RB and said LOOK...he looks back at me and says "OH MY GOSH...she looks 18!" That sure didn't help matters for me any! She looked so beautiful. From what I hear she danced the night away...didn't miss a song. I am sure that makes her DAD so proud...please blogger buddies, DON'T repeat that! No family feuds please!

Muffins with Mom and The Derby Day Party

This morning was Muffins with Mom at Wilkey School. So I decided that I would go into work late and take Alex-Shae to school.

What a morning?
Alex-Shae does much better when we stay in a routine. First of all, she wants to cut the tag out of the shirt that she is going to be wearing (thanks, Mom for passing this quirk down to her because tags don't seem to bother me)...without asking...I catch her in the act. I immediately say to her... "You are not to be doing that, you will cut the shirt." She stops and hands me the scissors. As she is passing them off to me she closes them and cuts my finger...blood starts going everywhere. She cries, and I am trying to clean it all up. What a mess? Go to get a band-aid..none in the cabinet. Oops... Alex-Shae now says that she put all the band-aids in her room because she thought that she is the only one that uses them. Basically, that is true! She is a drama queen. Now back to the shirt...I cut the tag and we are set. French braid the hair, which is a job with a finger that has two band-aids on it and is still hurting. Hair done. Now my other 2 kids...Sophie and Princess. Down the stairs, open the garage door and about an inch or more of water all over my feet. What the heck? Well, Lord help us all...I need to go back to bed. Wait...I have water everywhere. As it turns out the a/c unit was frozen up. Got a mess, got an insurance agent, and looks like a lot of work to do. LOVE IT...and lying!!!

Then before I left her, I snapped another quick picture at her desk. I felt kind of bad that we had such a bad morning. Oh well, tomorrow will be a different drama...I am certain of that.

The Gymnasts...

On Saturday, Alex-Shae and Ella had a gymnastics competition at Fliptown in E-town. We have been going to gymnastics since last October, and Ella started in February. They both did such a great job and we were so proud of them both. After the program, they posed for the quick picture with their medals. Olympics 20??...here they come!!!!
