Happy 8th Birthday Alex-Shae

I might be the worst blogger ever. I have been so busy that I just haven't had time to post. So I just made up my mind that I was going to do much better in 2o10 than I have in 2009 on my blogging. Here is a start...
We had a wonderful Christmas at The Horn's. Everybody got much more than they deserved. We truly enjoyed being with our families and friends.
We were rather worried about the holidays, on December 15th Alex-Shae took a fall at gymnastics and fractured the growth bone in her hand. Tough love at the our house, RB and I thought that the DRAMA QUEEN was in action...we didn't take her to the ER until the following night and found out that it was real pain!!! We felt terrible, and just knew that social services would be knocking on our door. (Haven't seen them yet!)
So today is Alex-Shae's 8th birthday. I absolutely canNOT believe it. It seems just like yesterday that we brought that 5lb. 10oz. baby home. What a blessing she has been to our lives!!! She is just a sweetie. I could never put in words just how much I love her and all she means to me. I still love to watch her sleep, hold her, kiss on her, and for now she still lets me. I am so thankful that GOD blessed me to be her Momma!!!

Took the green cast off to go to x-ray. She is scared to move it. Her shoulder is extremely sore too. She is enjoying a sprite at the moment. She was afraid that she was going to get sick when they took it off and she saw her hand, but she was a trooper and did GREAT!

Birthday supper... Madison comes with Me-Me and Papaw. They truly are the best of buddies.

Alex-Shae's Thanksgiving Program

Since I last posted, Alex-Shae has had about 6 inches cut off her hair. She loved it and thinks short hair is sooooooo easy. Yeah!!! Did I mention that we had it cut the weekend that her Dad was out of town? We lived to tell it!!!

I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted...YIKES!!! We are all still amongst the living but we have just been extremely busy to say the least.

Thankfully at this point we are all feeling much better. I was thinking for a few days that would NEVER happen. Alex-Shae was really sick and missed an entire week of school, and I might add at the same time we were in week 1 of the 2 week revival. Thankfully she got better by the second week and was able to attend some of it. Most of all I am pleased of what the Lord did once again during this revival.

Now...it is time for the HOLIDAY SEASON!!! We have a few trees up at The Horn's, but not complete at this point. RB says we always bypass Thanksgiving at our house, but this year we have already enjoyed it a bit more. Alex-Shae had her Thanksgiving program last night at school. She did such a good job with her reading part, I was so proud of her. The singing and singing and singing was all so good and those kiddos were so cute.

Happy 70th Birthday Dad!!!

Yesterday was Dad's 70th birthday. Such a milestone in this day. He and Mom came up to Leitchfield last night to eat dinner. We popped in to say and hi and Alex-Shae had to have her picture made with Papaw. She was so excited that it was his birthday.

Here the two of the are for a quick picture. We are having a birthday celebration on Saturday, so hopefully I will have some more pictures to post at that time.

Back to School...

I can't believe this day is already here. It only seems like yesterday was the last day of school and here we are going back. Alex-Shae seems to be ready to go and is so excited to see her friends. Please don't forget she is the social butterfly for certain. She may not know exactly what took place during class everyday, but she sure knows what everyone had on that day. Here are a few pics to share...
For some reason she is starting to cry in this picture. Can't you tell how fake it is? Once I snapped the picture she burst out in tears. I ask what was wrong and she replied "I just don't know about this!" Well...there isn't a lot you can do about it. I felt so sorry for her, but she is such the drama queen!

Here we are feeling a little better about going. She is such mess.

Fuzzy...but I had to post. I don't know why it had to be this picture that is not clear. But...here they are, Karson and Alex-Shae. Starting their 5th year together, 2 in pre-school at LCA and 3 at Wilkey. Please remember all...they do not sit beside one another or there would be no accomplishments made.

An Answered Prayer...Jeana

Long before school was out for the summer I was worrying about what Alex-Shae was going to do all summer break. I hate that she has to get up so early on school days with me but it made me feel even worse that she would have to do that on summer break. Thanks to RB's sister...we have Jeana. Jeana is at the house each morning at about 5:45 and stays until 5 each afternoon. We are so thankful for her and Alex-Shae just loves her so much. (So do Princess and Sophie!!!) Jeana is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. I am so thankful that she has got to spend the summer with us.

Jeana and Alex-Shae sent me this picture by phone. They love to remind me that they can swim anytime or just lay around and sleep until 10:30 daily. They love to make me jealous. I just love them.

Gulf Shores...2009

I thought I would never get to post about our WONDERFUL vacation to GULF SHORES. We had the most fabulous time. OHHH how I hated to leave, but it was a must. My dogs were needing me to come home or I would have stayed...yeah, right!!! Here are a few pictures to recap part of the trip...I could have posted at least 100 and still not got all the highlights. It was wonderful and we are planning next year already! ENJOY...

Happy "15th" Birthday Jared

I absolutely cannot believe that Jared has just celebrated his 15th birthday. Since June 17, 1994, my parent's have never been the same. That very day they forgot how to discipline... Their grandkids are so perfect. (Ask me and I will tell you the truth...even about my own, they are NOT!!!)
Jared was born sometime in the afternoon on June 17, I cannot recall the exact time. However, let me give you a flashback of what was happening on the day and at the time Jared was born. Every channel on TV had.... O.J. Simpson being chased by police down the California Freeway in that white ford bronco. Yes...the O.J. chase was in full swing at the time of Jared's birth. On every birthday that is still mentioned to this day!
Jared was the first that allowed me to be an AUNT! I love him so much. God gave him to us that day, with us not knowing all the obstacles that would lie ahead. However, with God's grace and strength he has seen us through everyday and carried us through all challenges. Jared is doing great and starting to high school in the fall. I am so thankful that for Jared everyday and I love him so very much...even if he calls me 14 times in 1 day on his new cell phone!!!
The birthday guy! I called him the birthday boy yesterday and he about come unglued on me...he is NOT a boy, he is a guy! Nolan makes the party. Bridgett and Emma Grace pose with him. Will told me that he didn't want in the picture...sorry!

Jared and his first and only babysitter, Annie! (She is my Mom's sister!) She started keeping him at 6 weeks old. He had it made between she and Papah! He is so crazy about her to this very day. He worried about her so much when she was sick. Yes...he calls her too!
